Renowned marathoner Eliud Kipchoge is receiving widespread admiration in the United States after a video of his interaction with fans went viral.
The Olympic champion was captured waving from the back of a black car, warmly greeting excited crowds and taking photos with young admirers who were thrilled to meet the running icon.
One particularly enthusiastic fan shared a photo with Kipchoge, calling him “the running GOAT”, a nod to his status as the Greatest of All Time in long-distance running.
Hailing from Eldoret in Uasin Gishu County, Kipchoge is widely considered one of the greatest marathoners in history. He currently holds the official world record for the marathon, set at the 2022 Berlin Marathon with a blistering time of 2:01:09.
A two-time Olympic gold medalist, Kipchoge clinched victories in Rio (2016) and Tokyo (2020). He has won 10 out of the 11 major marathons he's competed in, including races in London, Chicago, Berlin, and Tokyo.

He also made headlines globally when he became the first human to run a marathon in under two hours, completing the INEOS 1:59 Challenge in Vienna with a time of 1:59:40, an unofficial but historic feat.
Known for his humble demeanor and the mantra "No Human is Limited," Kipchoge’s dedication, discipline, and positivity have made him an icon beyond athletics.
His ‘no excuses’ philosophy continues to inspire people around the world, both on and off the track.
Beyond his own career, Kipchoge is also known for supporting fellow athletes.
After Kenyan middle-distance runner Faith Kipyegon missed her sub-four-minute mile target by seven seconds at a recent Nike event, Kipchoge posted a heartfelt message on Instagram with a photo of the two embracing.
“Limits exist only in our minds,” he wrote.
“Yesterday, Faith dared to go beyond them. I am proud to witness her journey and seeing her inspire so many around the world. I for one can say moonshots don’t always succeed on a first try, but the first try is the most crucial one for us all. It’s not a matter of if, it’s when.”
With over two decades of excellence in long-distance running, Eliud Kipchoge remains a global sporting legend and a beacon of inspiration.
