Maina Kageni, Carol Radull mourn Spice FM's Edward Kwach's death in emotional tributes:

Veteran radio personalities Maina Kageni and Carol Radull are among prominent Kenyans mourning the death of celebrated Spice FM presenter Edward Kwach.

Kwach, known for his vibrant presence on The Spice Drive, died while undergoing treatment after a recent diagnosis of meningitis.

In an emotional tribute, Maina Kageni wrote, “One of the best things to ever happen to me was meeting Edward Carey Francis Kwach... his energy and go-getter attitude certainly rubbed off on us. Then we started a radio show together on Kiss 100 alongside Arjun Vidyarthi, then Ciku Muiruri, then Cess Mutungi.”

Kageni added, “I realised that I was working with a broadcast genius. Edward, I've said this oh so often—you were the greatest radio personality Kenya has ever produced. I can only celebrate you and your legacy. Go well. Eric Ndavi is waiting for you... and we must, inevitably, join you. Till then, adios... we love you.”

Radull, responding to Kageni’s message, wrote, “You told me so many times Maina; that the greatest radio presenter in Kenya was Edward Kwach hands down! Then we would laugh at ourselves. Goodbye Kwach. Til we meet again.”

She later shared her own tribute, “Heartbreaking. A colleague and a friend. Rest in peace Edward Kwach. Otto, Edgar, Shaka and the whole Kwach Family; deepest condolences.”

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved son and brother, Carey… He touched the lives of many through his voice and presence on the airwaves,” the statement read.

Prior to his death, Kwach had appealed for blood donations, receiving overwhelming support from colleagues and fans across the media fraternity.
