An Eastleigh man, whose money was allegedly stolen by his sister-in-law after a heated argument with his wife over divorce demands, has now turned to the courts in search of justice.
Mohammed Abdille Farah (the complainant) is accused of having his Sh50,000, along with Sh45,000 (US$350), stolen from a wallet by his sister-in-law, Fakiya Yussuf Ahmed (the accused), on August 6, at his home in California, while she was accompanied by her children and his wife.
On that day, the complainant was resting at home around 10 am when his wife, who had not been charged, demanded a divorce—something the complainant opposed.
It is alleged that the wife grabbed him by the collar, and during the struggle, the complainant pushed her away, causing her to fall.
She eventually became agitated and she followed him to the bedroom where she slapped and punched him. She further called her sister who came with her two sons, and they continued with the assault.
A neighbour, who heard the commotion, advised the complainant to escape for his safety. During the altercation, the complainant claimed that the accused took his wallet. The accused was granted a bond of Sh300,000, with a hearing scheduled for September 25.
