A 28-year-old woman from Eastleigh has found herself in the clutches of the law after allegedly threatening to kill her co-wife in a dramatic confrontation fuelled by jealousy.
Nasra Abdi, dressed in a flowing navy blue hijab that framed her tense expression as she appeared in court, is accused of threatening the life of Fariyuni Adani on March 12 in the Tiara area of Nairobi’s Embakasi Sub-County.
According to court documents, Nasra was incensed that her husband was spending more time at Adani’s home than at hers.
Her anger reportedly boiled over on the day in question when she discovered her husband was visiting the co-wife.
Driven by rage, Nasra allegedly stormed to Adani’s house, demanding that the door be opened. Armed with a kitchen knife, she is said to have barged in the moment the door was unlocked, heading straight towards her intended target.
Adani, a mother of five, was thrown into terror as Nasra advanced, but quick action by the husband, who managed to restrain and disarm her, prevented a potential tragedy.
In a panic, a terrified Adani raised the alarm, prompting neighbours to rush to her rescue.
They attempted to calm the explosive situation, but Nasra, still fuming, reportedly walked away vowing to kill her rival, a threat that forced Adani to report the matter to authorities.
Nasra has since denied the charges when she appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate Paul Rotich at the Makadara Law Courts.
She was granted a cash bail of Sh50,000 pending the next hearing, scheduled for July 9, 2025.
