Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has made a joyous and much-anticipated return to Kenya, touching down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Friday.

Kihika had been to the United States of America for over 5 months, where she gave birth to twin boys.

Her homecoming became both a personal celebration and a powerful political statement, drawing together some of the country’s most prominent leaders in a show of unity and support.

Dressed in blue denim and black, and glowing with maternal pride, Kihika arrived alongside her husband, businessman Sam Mburu, to the warm embrace of friends, family and allies who had gathered to welcome her.

In an atmosphere filled with jubilation, ululations, and flashes from clicking cameras, the couple proudly introduced their newborn sons.

In a heartfelt message posted on her social media pages, Kihika expressed her gratitude to those who stood with her during what she described as a “season of double blessings.”

“Truly blessed and overwhelmed with gratitude,” she wrote. “Was deeply humbled and honoured to receive a warm visit from my dear friends who came to welcome me home and celebrate the arrival of my twin babies… Your love, prayers, and presence mean the world to me and my family.”

The governor's welcome didn’t end at the airport. Later that evening, she hosted a private celebration at her residence, where family and political allies joined her and Mburu for an intimate cake-cutting ceremony.

Photos shared from the event showed Kihika comfortably with the twins, flanked by smiling guests and close allies.

Among those present were Molo MP Kuria Kimani and former Gatundu South MP turned Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria, who mingled freely with guests and posed affectionately with the newborns.

Their presence, along with other notable leaders, turned what was a personal family moment into a subtle political gathering.

Most significantly, Kihika’s homecoming attracted a strong contingent of female leaders in a symbolic show of sisterhood and political solidarity.

Nyeri Woman Representative Rahab Mukami, Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire, Nominated Senator Veronicah Maina, and Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi were all in attendance.

In early April, months of silence and online speculation, Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika and her husband, Sam Mburu, showed off their adorable double joy, twins.

In a heartwarming photo that took social media by storm, the couple was seen beaming with pride as they posed with their adorable twins.

The photo showed Kihika seated in a cosy beige armchair, glowing in a white blouse, holding the twins on her lap.

One baby, as speculated by online 'sleuths', was claimed to be visibly older and upright, as it gazed curiously at the camera, while the younger one, peacefully asleep in a white onesie, resting gently in Kihika's arm.
