It is a good season to be Winnie Gor Communications Africa (WGCA). The dynamic pan-African PR and communications agency just earned itself a prestigious double nomination at the upcoming 2025 SABRE Awards Africa an industry moment that is turning heads across the continent.
If you are in the business of storytelling, you already know the SABRE Awards are a big deal. Think of them as the gold standard for public relations recognising campaigns that are not just clever, but also strategic, purpose-driven, and impactful.
For WGCA, the spotlight is on two standout projects: Tujiamini by SportPesa, which landed a finalist spot in the Eastern Africa category, and Talk To Me Direct, a bold podcast by Luminate Africa, up for Best Digital Campaign. Both campaigns reflect what WGCA does best capturing the heart of African stories and delivering them with edge, clarity, and cultural nuance.
“We’re honored to have two of our campaigns recognized on a continental stage,” says founder and CEO Winnie Gor. “It’s more than just industry validation it’s a reflection of the vision we committed to when we rebranded in 2024. We’re showing that African narratives belong at the center, not the sidelines.”
Since its founding over a decade ago, WGCA has grown into a serious player in Africa’s communications space. With a presence in 17 countries including Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, and Ethiopia, the agency serves a diverse client base from start-ups and social enterprises to multinationals, development organisations, and governments.
And they have worked with some pretty notable names: The Aga Khan Foundation, Mastercard Foundation, the European Union, CorpsAfrica, The SNDBX, and Brighter Monday Kenya are just a few in their portfolio. But what sets WGCA apart is not just its client list it’s the intention behind the work.
“From Nairobi to Lagos to Accra, we’re telling Africa’s stories with purpose, creativity, and conviction,” Gor says.
“Our nominations are not just a pat on the back they’re a rallying call for the future of communications on the continent.”
The 2025 SABRE Awards Africa ceremony will be held on June 12 in Mombasa during the African Public Relations Association (APRA) annual conference. It’s a glamorous, high-energy event where the continent’s brightest PR minds come together to celebrate the best of the best—and WGCA is firmly in that spotlight.
