Record Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia have wasted no time capitalizing on the momentum from the Harambee Stars' strong CHAN campaign, pulling off major signings from top rival clubs ahead of the 2025/26 season.

In what fans are calling a "statement of intent," Gor Mahia has officially signed Lewis Bandi, AFC Leopards' defender and assistant captain, in a sensational switch that's already sending shockwaves through Kenyan football.

Currently representing Kenya in the African Nations Championship (CHAN), Bandi has been a defensive rock-especially noted for his commanding display in the standout win against Morocco in the abdsence of Daniel Sakari.

But that is not all.

Gor Mahia also unveiled the signing of Mike Kibwage, the dependable center-back formerly with Tusker FC.

With his contract having expired at the Brewers, Kibwage was a hot prospect-and K'Ogalo moved fast to secure his services on a two-year contract as well.

Adding to the roster, rising goalkeeper Byrne Omondi joins from Bandari FC, bringing with him red-hot CHAN form. Omondi has already bagged two clean sheets in three games, including a gritty shutout against two-time CHAN winners DR Congo and a crucial clean sheet in the victory over Morocco.

Gor Mahia's Deputy Patron, Eliud Owalo, recently met with some of the new signings, sharing words of encouragement and appreciation for their national team performances.

"Met Harambee Stars' right-back Lewis Bandi and midfielder Austin Odhiambo. Commended the boys for a great show in the ongoing CHAN tournament. We owe a great debt of gratitude to our National Soccer Team for doing us proud so far," Owalo shared on social media.

With these additions, Gor Mahia clearly is not just playing the transfer game they are setting the pace ahead of next. The triple swoop of CHAN standouts not only strengthens the squad but signals serious ambition as they look to defend their league title and make a mark in continental football, with their star player Austine Odhiambo touted for a move abroad.
