Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has taken to social media to celebrate her son Daniel after he emerged victorious in a Muay Thai contest, earning widespread praise for his discipline, grit and technical mastery.

In a post shared with her followers, the governor congratulated Daniel for excelling in Muay Thai; Thailand’s traditional martial art famously known as the Art of Eight Limbs for its use of fists, elbows, knees and shins.

“Congratulations, my son Daniel, for winning in Muay Thai… This victory reflects your discipline, strength, technical skill and unwavering determination, as well as the countless hours of training and sacrifice you have put into the sport,” Wavinya wrote.

She added that Daniel’s success is a testament to hard work and commitment paying off, encouraging him to stay focused and keep chasing his dreams, noting that the win marks the start of an even greater journey.

Moments later, the Machakos boss delighted fans by sharing a celebratory photo of Daniel biting his medal as he posed for the camera; a classic champion’s gesture that quickly caught the attention of her followers and sparked congratulatory messages online.

The post drew warm reactions from Kenyans across the country, with many applauding the governor for openly celebrating motherhood and supporting sports talent.

Muay Thai or Thai Boxing is the national sport and cultural martial art of Thailand.

It was developed several hundreds of years ago as a form of close-combat that utilizes the entire body as a weapon.

This is not the first time that Wavinya Ndeti is publicly celebrating Daniel.

Earlier in the year, Wavinya shared photos of her son graduating from Hult International Business School in London, UK.

“Congratulations, my dear son Daniel, on your graduation! I’m so proud of you, not only for this achievement but also for the hard work, discipline, and determination that brought you here,” part of her message read.

The governor also remembered her late husband in her post, writing: “I know your dad is smiling down from heaven, proud of the man you’re becoming. Keep soaring higher, this is just the beginning of an extraordinary journey of success.”
