Trump's aide Natalie Harp's personal letters reveal unusually close bond

Donald Trump’s close aide Natalie Harp has found herself at the centre of fresh attention after two deeply personal letters she reportedly wrote to the US president were made public.

The letters published by Trump’s Biographer Michael Wolf are reported to have been written in 2023 when Harp was 31 and Trump was 76, offer an unusually intimate glimpse into how the aide viewed her relationship with the then-presidential candidate. 

They have also reignited questions about just how close Harp has become to Trump.

In one letter, Harp reportedly apologised to Trump over what she considered a disappointing moment during a trip to Scotland. 

Rather than sounding like the typical workplace apology, however, the message reportedly became a deeply emotional reflection on her fear of letting him down.

“I never want to bring you anything but joy. I’m sorry I lost my focus. You are all that matters to me. I don’t want to ever let you down. Thank you for being my Guardian and my Protector in this life,” Natalie wrote. 

Harp described herself as feeling “unworthy” and expressed concern that she had failed to live up to Trump's expectations. 

She reportedly told him that she never wanted to bring him anything but joy and that he was “all that matters” to her.

Harp, 35, is a former television presenter and cancer survivor who first came to Trump’s attention in 2019 after publicly crediting his “Right to Try” law with helping her access experimental cancer treatment. 

She later spoke at the 2020 Republican National Convention before working for conservative network One America News Network. 

She joined Trump’s political operation in 2022 and became known as his “human printer” for following him with a laptop and portable printer, supplying him with articles and other information. 

She became Trump’s executive assistant when he returned to the White House in January 2025, cementing her position as one of his closest aides.

Her proximity to Trump has become even more noticeable in recent months. Reports have highlighted her frequent presence around him and her role as an important gatekeeper within his inner circle.

The letters have sparked fascination because Harp's relationship with Trump appears to go far beyond the conventional boss-and-assistant dynamc transforming what might ordinarily have remained a private exchange into a subject of intense public fascination.

The White House, however, has not denied that Harp wrote them, while defending her as one of Trump's loyal and hardworking aides.
