Former US President Barack Obama has lovingly celebrated former First Lady Michelle Obama with a heartfelt birthday message.

Obama wrote, "You fill every room with warmth, wisdom, humour, and grace and you look good doing it. I’m so lucky to be able to take on life's adventures with you. Love you!"

The public declaration comes as speculation about the Obamas' 31-year marriage has gained momentum. Recent rumours of a potential split intensified following Michelle Obama’s absence from key public events.

On January 7, Michelle was notably absent from former President Jimmy Carter’s state funeral, which Obama attended alongside other former presidents and their spouses.

Her absence raised questions about her personal and marital life. Further fuelling the speculation, Michelle’s office confirmed she would not attend President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20.
