The drama surrounding Nigerian superstar 2Baba and his actress wife, Annie Macaulay-Idibia, has taken a jaw-dropping turn.

Less than two weeks after the explosive season three premiere of Young, Famous & African, the legendary musician announced he’s officially ending his marriage.

The revelation came via an Instagram post that has since vanished, but not before the internet took note.

In the statement, 2Baba confirmed that he and Annie had "been separated for a while now" and that he had "filed for divorce." While the exact timeline of their split remains unclear, the singer promised a press release to clarify the situation.

2Baba justified his decision, saying, “Not because it is anyone’s right to know about my personal life, but because I love my people and I need them to know my innocence or offence. Stay blessed my people. I love you all.”

Meanwhile, Annie Idibia has remained silent, fueling speculation about the turmoil behind the scenes.

Her last Instagram post was a teaser for the Netflix reality show on January 13, with no mention of the impending divorce.

Even more telling, just days before, she posted about her daughter Olivia’s birthday, a family moment that showed no signs of a crumbling marriage.

“It was our superstar’s birthday, and she just turned 11. When daddy and I asked her what she wanted for her birthday…she could’ve asked for anything, but my baby asked for an opportunity to celebrate with children who aren’t privileged,” Annie wrote.

With the divorce bombshell, the Young, Famous & African cast wasted no time choosing sides, and they’re firmly backing Annie. Even longtime frenemy Zari Hassan, aka The Boss Lady, put aside past jabs to post, “AFRICA loves you, baby girl.”

Quinton Masina, popularly known as DJ Naked, showed love in Annie’s comment section, writing, “We love you, Annie.” His fiancée, Kayleigh Schwark, echoed the sentiment, reposting a comment praising the cast for supporting Annie during this public fallout.

But it was Khanyi Mbau who made the most explosive statement, calling out 2Baba for making the divorce public

"Nothing makes me sick like a man who runs to social media when things go south in his relationship. @official2baba disgusting! Annie does not walk alone," Khanyi wrote.

Khanyi went further, offering Annie heartfelt advice: “Put on your rain boots and go feel the rain on your skin. You will weather this storm! Make friends with silence… It will teach you a lot.”

Meanwhile, YFA newcomer Luis Munana shared a behind-the-scenes video of Annie, laughing and modeling alongside Zari’s husband, Shakib Cham.

He captioned it with a broken heart emoji, leaving fans wondering if Annie is masking her pain or moving on in style.

With Annie keeping quiet and 2Baba promising more revelations, this messy breakup is far from over.
