Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has made a bold declaration when he finally settles down, he will marry three wives.
The humorous legislator revealed that his demanding political career has left him with no time for dating.
His priority, he said, is delivering for his constituents before he even thinks about marriage.
Salasya admitted that his work keeps him constantly on the move, making it difficult to commit to a relationship. However, when the right time comes, he is set on having three wives.
During a recent radio interview, the MP laughed off concerns about his bachelor status, joking that he is the only man in Mumias East “permitted” to stay single so he can fully focus on serving his people.
"Mimi peke yake ndiye nimeruhusiwa kutooa katika eneo bunge la Mumias Mashariki kwa sasa kwa sababu nina majukumu mengi..." (I am the only one allowed to remain unmarried in Mumias East for now because I have many responsibilities), he wrote on Instagram.
This isn’t the first time Salasya’s love life has sparked public interest. In the past, he hilariously expressed admiration for socialite Huddah Monroe, leading to a playful online exchange that had fans entertained.
"Huyu Huddah Monroe akinipa ni all gas no breaks. Kufa dereva kufa makanga. She is a big supporter of us Gen Z," Salasya said in admiration.
Salasya recently opposed the results of a recent survey that ranked Embakasi East MP Babu Owino as the best-performing lawmaker in Kenya.
The survey was conducted by research firm Infotrak and placed Babu Owino at the top with a score of 72 per cent. Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro followed closely at 71 per cent. Salasya was ranked fifth with a score of 61 per cent.
Salasya took to social media to express his disappointment with the ranking.
He shared the poll results and wrote, “I being number 5 is not enough. I am supposed to be number one. I am rigged, but it’s okay. I will be giving a press statement in this regard. I will explain and state to the public what I have been able to achieve and I will dare them to mention what they have been able to achieve.”
