TikTok sensation Baby Kiki has captivated thousands with her energetic dance moves, but her rise to fame wasn’t instant.
In a candid interview, she revealed how a spontaneous decision turned her into an overnight sensation.
“I created my TikTok account in my first year of university, about four years ago. Sometimes my videos would do well, other times they wouldn’t. One day, while in my hostel, I recorded a dance video and posted it. It blew up so fast, I couldn’t believe it,” she recalled.
That single clip catapulted her to stardom, racking up over 1.1 million views and drawing admiration for her high-energy performances. Her following skyrocketed to over 162,000 in just days, proving that sometimes, all it takes is the right moment.
While dancing remains her first love, Baby Kiki is also making a name for herself in acting, joining the ranks of popular digital skit creators.
However, she has set firm personal boundaries when it comes to the roles she accepts.
“I started acting on the side, which also helped boost my account. I mostly do short skits in public spaces, but I have my limits, I won’t kiss or go nude for a role,” she stated firmly, aligning herself with stars like Sanaipei Tande, who have also upheld similar principles in their careers.
Baby Kiki’s journey isn’t just about passion; it’s also about smart monetisation.
She acknowledges the financial potential of social media, especially on TikTok.
“Dancing has been my passion since childhood. But when it comes to recording and posting, it’s all about the money. Brands are making people money on TikTok,” she explained.
Her rising popularity has attracted not only brand deals but also an unexpected flood of attention, especially from male admirers.
“I have over 500 messages in my inbox from men. I rarely reply because I can’t respond to all of them,” she admitted with a laugh.
