Video: Bien leads concert goers in 'Ruto must go' chants during US tour

Bien-Aimé Baraza, famed for his tenure as the lead singer of the now defunct boy band Sauti Sol is currently on his ongoing ‘Alusa why are you Topless’ US tour.

During his opening performance in Washington, D.C. on May 14, a video surfaced online showing Bien leading the crowd in a politically charged chant: “Ruto Must Go.”

The video, which has since gone viral on social media, captures Bien performing energetically on stage, where he urges the people in attendance to sing along ‘Ruto must Go’.

The room erupts in cheers and laughter, with many fans raising their phones to capture the moment.

His decision to the message in his performances has drawn both praise and criticism.

" Now we will support Bien. I want to buy his album. How can I buy his album?” asked a fan

“Nmetoka YouTube kuwatch ngoma  zake zote,” another one said.

Bien’s U.S. tour kicked off on May 14 and will run until May 26, with stops scheduled in eight states, including major cities like New York, Boston, Chicago, and Dallas.

The Washington, D.C. performance was one of the earliest shows on the itinerary. His show in Boston is scheduled to happen tomorrow, May 17th, and according to his social media pages, the show is already sold out.

The #RutoMustGo movement, stems from the 2024 Kenyan protests that saw significant violence and loss of life, with over 60 people killed and hundreds injured.
