Celebrated content creator Elsa Majimbo has come under fire on social media after urging women not to get pregnant, claiming it would "ruin their lives."
Taking to her platform, the outspoken influencer shared a strongly-worded post that quickly went viral.
She wrote, "Don’t get pregnant. It’ll ruin your life. Don’t get pregnant. It’ll ruin your life, ladies. I beg you, DO NOT GET PREGNANT."

The statement sparked a wave of reactions, with thousands of comments flooding in, many criticising her views as offensive and misguided.
Critics argued that childbirth is widely seen as a blessing, particularly in African culture, where motherhood holds deep traditional value.
One user on X questioned her stance by asking, "Did you ruin your mother’s life?", pointing out the irony of her message, given that she herself was once a child born to a mother.
Others took a more balanced approach, suggesting that while Majimbo may have had good intentions, her message lacked clarity and nuance.
"Your message is good, but it's incomplete," one X user wrote. "To make it more impactful, you should have directed it to a specific cohort, explaining why avoiding pregnancy at that particular life stage is necessary and detailing how to prevent it."
Despite the backlash, some defended Majimbo’s perspective, agreeing that pregnancy should be a well-thought-out decision.
"Don’t get pregnant if you are not ready. It’ll ruin your life… DO NOT GET PREGNANT IF YOU ARE NOT READY!" another user echoed, stating the importance of mental and physical preparedness before choosing motherhood.
Elsa Majimbo first rose to fame after pop icon Rihanna applauded her witty skits while wearing Fenty eyewear, later inviting her to model for the luxury brand.
That opportunity catapulted Majimbo into international recognition, linking her with global celebrities such as Naomi Campbell.
Since then, she has continued to make headlines, often stirring debate with her candid opinions and storytelling content on platforms like TikTok.
