Father’s Day on June 16, 2025, saw Kenyans across the country pull out all the stops to honour the special men in their lives. From heartfelt social media tributes to family outings and memorable experiences, the day was marked with gratitude, love, and reflection.
Social media platforms were flooded with emotional posts, as users took time to appreciate their dads for the love, support, and sacrifices they’ve made over the years.
Celebrities also joined in the celebrations.
Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu shared a powerful tribute on Instagram, celebrating the role of fathers across the world.
“Happy Father’s Day to the men in our lives! It’s the masculine grace, constant sacrifice, the quiet strength. To you, the fixers, the givers, the ones who always find a way. We see you. We honor you. We are so grateful for your love. God bless you for us,” she wrote.
Content creators Milly and Kabi wa Jesus also marked the day with a warm family message.
Milly praised her husband for his support and dedication to their family. On their son Taji wa Jesus’s Instagram page, the family posted a photo captioned: “Happy Father’s Day, our Super Dad.”
Rapper Octopizzo, known for hits like “Oliel” and “Wakoritho,” paid tribute to his late father in an emotional and poetic Instagram post.
Alongside a throwback wedding photo of his dad, pinned to Kibera Slums, he wrote:
“I wear your silence like a second skin & your absence echoes where pride should’ve been… I’m living this life for both of us now, your dreams stitched into mine... Happy Father’s Day, Ogwanjo Lord McOhanga. Stay fly, Always. Forever the GOAT.”
Gospel singer Size 8 (Linet Munyali) shared a joyful post of her husband DJ Mo bonding with their two children.
“Awwww the smile on his face… that is beautiful. Happy Father’s Day @djmokenya. You truly love and care for your children. Thank you for being a present dad in their lives,” she wrote.
Away from social media, many Kenyans marked the day at home, in the countryside, or at fun-filled venues.
At Novotel Nairobi, fathers and their children engaged in games like foosball, pool, video games, and sack races, creating lasting memories.
Older children also treated their fathers to meals and activities, with many sharing how they were raised in humble backgrounds and are now planning grand gestures, such as gifting their dads cars or homes, to show their gratitude.
