Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has stirred a wave of reactions on social media after posting a photo with Tanzanian R&B star Juma Jux during an exclusive pre-wedding bash held in Karen, Nairobi.
While the guest list included a host of elite figures, it was Sudi’s playful caption that grabbed netizens’ attention.
Sharing the moment on his social media, Sudi wrote: “Tulitangamana na Juma Mussa Mkambala almaarufu Juma Jux kutoka Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania ambapo tulijadili jinsi ya kukuza tasnia ya muziki katika ukanda wa Afrika Mashariki. Let’s groove to the rhythms of Africa! BORA NIENJOY.”
Kenyans online did not spare a moment, with many questioning whether Sudi penned the post himself.
@Ian_Rapando commented, “I believe it’s not Oscar Sudi who wrote this.”
@raw_bie joked, “Injinia mambo yako ni gumu... mara Plutnumz now Jux, hizo deals mnachora ni gani…”
@Tonny_Lebron quipped, “Haiya andika na akili yako sasa.”
Several users also took issue with the MP’s claim of discussing music industry development.
@kmuriithi003 challenged, “How many bills targeting artists and local talents have you tabled? Just a quick one?”
@katsumoto254 weighed in, “Honestly, we are at rock bottom. This chap can't even articulate simple issues of a public interest nature as his position mandates but instead finds 'solace' in such.”
@simonlemashon pointed out the state of artist compensation, writing, “Kama Sautisol analipwa 2k per year muna ungaana kukuza mziki kwa njia ipi?”
Later, Sudi shared official images from the star-studded event, showing off the guest list that included top celebrities and political heavyweights.
“I wish the couple a lifetime of love, happiness, and togetherness as they prepare to embark on this new chapter. Congratulations to Nicole and Brian!” he wrote in a follow-up post.
The opulent celebration was in honour of Nicole Langat, daughter of billionaire businessman David Langat, and Brian Belio, son of Immigration and Citizen Services Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang.
