Nairobi's gospel community was pleasantly surprised by a heartfelt performance from UK-based Ghanaian gospel artiste Steve Impact, who unveiled his latest single, Higher, at a private listening event.
This exclusive gathering was held at Freedom Embassy International and offered a distinctive experience: a silent listening and viewing session where attendees donned illuminated wireless headsets, transforming the sanctuary into a mesmerising display of light and energy.
Higher, a collaboration with Kenya's Njoki Munyi, goes beyond just being a musical piece; it evolves into a profound spiritual anthem. The song was both filmed and recorded in London, and it is now available on all major streaming platforms as well as YouTube. This track conveys a powerful message centred around faith, hope, and the resilience needed to overcome life's challenges.
The gathering in Nairobi drew a significant and diverse group of faith leaders, including prominent figures such as Reverend Dr. Jane Mwikali from Freedom Embassy Church, Reverend Julian Kyula representing RUACH Ministries, Prophet David Owusu and Pastor Tumaini, among several others.
Their presence at this event underscored the unity and collective support that exists within the gospel community, which resonates not only locally but also on a global level. This theme of solidarity is a topic that is often discussed within the gospel music industry, yet it frequently lacks thorough exploration and depth in conversations.
As the lights dimmed and headsets lit up, the audience was enveloped in the moving visuals and soaring vocals of Higher.
“Kenya has a special place in my heart,” Steve Impact told the audience. “This collaboration with Njoki is not just music it’s ministry. Higher is about lifting our eyes above fear and stepping boldly into God’s promises. Watching the connection here tonight was truly humbling.”
Njoki Munyi, glowing with gratitude told TNX, “Working with Steve has been a gift. The love in this room tonight is proof that Higher is already speaking to hearts.”
