Renowned beauty entrepreneur Suzie Wokabi has been named the new CEO of O’Bao, a Kenyan brand for sustainable natural cosmetics. She will officially take over the role starting January 2025.

Wokabi, the founder of SuzieBeauty and beautytech brand SB Dada, is celebrated for her innovative approach to African beauty. Her appointment is expected to strengthen O’Bao’s mission to pioneer natural, eco-friendly skincare products made in Kenya for Kenyans and beyond.

With over 20 years of experience in the beauty industry, Wokabi is passionate about sustainability, local entrepreneurship, and effective skincare. O’Bao uses natural ingredients like Baobab oil and Spirulina, focusing on environmentally friendly production methods.

“I am truly inspired by O’Bao and its mission to unite Africa’s beauty and sustainability in one brand. It is not just a brand; it is a movement that proves Kenya can create world-class natural cosmetics,” said Wokabi.

In her new role, Wokabi aims to drive product innovation to meet emerging trends and local needs, enhance O’Bao’s brand visibility across East Africa and globally, and strengthen sustainability efforts through local supply chains and eco-friendly production.

Wokabi’s journey from founding SuzieBeauty in 2009 to leading O’Bao highlights her commitment to African beauty. After selling SuzieBeauty to Flame Tree Group, she remained the brand ambassador and chief creative officer, focusing on product development, marketing, and PR.

Her move to O’Bao signals a shift towards sustainable, locally produced cosmetics. “The future of cosmetics lies in sustainability, local entrepreneurship, and leveraging our natural resources,” she noted.
