A disturbing video has gone viral online, showing the moment police officers openly threatened to kill peaceful protesters during the recent Saba Saba demonstrations.

The footage, seemingly recorded from an upper floor of a nearby building at an undisclosed location, captures a tense moment as two armed officers confront unarmed demonstrators.

In the video, protesters can be heard chanting, "Tuko na amani! We are here with a lot of peace na nyinyi mnataka kutuuwa," in an apparent attempt to emphasize their non-violent intentions.

Despite the peaceful nature of the protest, the officers are seen approaching with rifles raised and showing clear hostility.

Tensions escalate as one visibly agitated officer shouts at the group, "Wewe, wewe! Unafanya watu wenu waanze kulia ukijifanya unapigana na polisi!"

He then issues a chilling threat, "Nitakuuwa wewe! Niko na ruhusa ya kukuuwa... Utalala kwa fridge! Usicheze na mimi!"

The officer's claim that he had official permission to kill sparked widespread alarm on social media, drawing condemnation from Kenyans across the country.

The incident occurred during the Saba Saba protests held in several towns, where citizens took to the streets to protest against the worsening economic crisis, corruption, and alleged police brutality.

While many demonstrations remained peaceful, multiple reports indicated the use of excessive force by law enforcement officers.

The video has prompted outrage, with civil society organizations and human rights groups demanding immediate accountability.

"This is a clear violation of human rights," said an X user.

"No officer has the legal mandate to kill. This must not be swept under the carpet."

Online, the hashtag #StopPoliceBrutality has gained traction as Kenyans call on the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) to investigate the incident and take appropriate action.
