President William Ruto has promised additional rewards for Harambee Stars players in the ongoing African Nations Championship (CHAN).
Speaking during a meeting with the team at the Pullman Hotel in Upper Hill, Nairobi, Ruto said each player would receive Sh2.5 million if they win their upcoming match against Zambia.
"This Sunday, we are winning, right? By God's grace, we will win. We have added a little more - if we win, each person will get Sh2.5 million," Ruto told the players amid applause.
The president praised the team for uniting the country, saying their performance has shown that national unity is achievable.
Unity has always propelled us forward. We must never allow negativity, failure, or doubt to prevent us from reaching our full potential. If we believe in ourselves and refuse to let division or hate enter the equation, Kenya can become the great nation we all dream of.

"Unity has always propelled us forward. We must never allow negativity, failure, or doubt to prevent us from reaching our full potential. If we believe in ourselves and refuse to let division or hate enter the equation, Kenya can become the great nation we all dream of," Ruto said.
He further announced that each player will be allocated a two-bedroom affordable housing unit in a location of their choice if they secure a quarter-final victory.
"If they triumph in the quarter-finals, each will be gifted Sh1 million and a two-bedroom affordable housing unit in a location of their choice," he said.
This comes as the players continue to enjoy Ruto's earlier Sh1 million-per-person pledge for their victory against DR Congo.
After Harambee Stars' historic 1-0 win in their opening match, the President disbursed Sh42 million through the Ministry of Sports to reward 27 players and 15 technical bench officials, each receiving Sh1 million.
