Mumias East MP Peter Salasya is unfazed by his dramatic ejection from Nyayo Stadium during the Kenya-Gabon match.
Instead, he has vowed to return for the highly anticipated Mashemeji Derby between Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards.
In a video posted on his official X account (@pksalasya), Salasya boldly declared, “Sunday tunakuja Nyayo Stadium by force. Thank you, Dagoretti and Kawangware kwa ujumla.”
The video also captures a visibly agitated man proclaiming, “Viongozi wetu wa Western, tunafanyiwa madharau kila mara na watu hawaangalii. Respect kila mtu. Heshimu Salasya!” as supporters wave banners reading "PK Salasya must be respected."
Another supporter adds, “Ile madharau wanafanyia Salasya, hatujapenda kama watu wa Dagoretti.”
Salasya’s determination follows a chaotic scene on Sunday when he was forced to flee Nyayo Stadium after being confronted by a hostile crowd.
A viral clip showed him hastily exiting as objects were hurled in his direction.
Security personnel eventually escorted him to his car, which sped off.
The Mashemeji Derby has historically been a high-stakes encounter, often marred by crowd trouble.
Last year, Gor Mahia edged AFC Leopards 1-0 in a heated match, after which infuriated Ingwe fans disrupted the game, leading to hefty fines for both clubs.
This year's edition, originally slated for March 2, faced a postponement due to venue issues.
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed confirmed, “The decision follows the inability of the designated home team to secure a suitable venue.”
The rescheduled fixture is now set for Sunday, March 30, 2025, at 4:00 PM, promising an electrifying clash, on and off the pitch.
