You're not Ruto's wife, move on, Sudi tells off Justin Muturi after fallout with president

MP Oscar Sudi has accused former cabinet secretary Justin Muturi of being overly emotional and unable to move on after a fallout with President William Ruto.

In a post on X Sudi said, “Men don’t miss each other, or are you Ruto’s wife to be called on a daily basis? Learn to move on, my friend! Ukiachwa Achika (If you’re left, move on.)”

His remarks were in response to Muturi’s recent revelation that the president had stopped picking his calls.

Muturi, in a statement, had earlier said, “Ruto stopped picking my calls after the funeral of Lenny Kivuti’s son. We haven’t spoken since, and I don’t miss it. I only used to call him when it was absolutely necessary. So, to hell with it! He is not someone I cannot live without.”

The emotional outburst has drawn sharp reactions, with Sudi’s post amplifying the public spat and exposing the undercurrents of discontent within the Kenya Kwanza coalition.

The tension between Sudi and Muturi can be traced back to early this year.

In January 15 Sudi publicly called for Muturi to resign from his position, accusing him of disloyalty to the government.

Taking to the same platform, he said,  “This desperate move, made now that your political career has waned, is a clear blackmail attempt. The timing is highly suspicious, revealing a coward man clutching at straws for political advantage. In regards to your son’s woes, who is my agemate kwani alishikwa bure?"

This followed Muturi’s explosive allegations that his son, had been abducted during the 2024 protests against the Finance Bill.

Muturi claimed the abduction was orchestrated by National Intelligence Service, and that his son was only released after President Ruto’s direct intervention.

Sudi dismissed Muturi’s claims as politically motivated, suggesting that Leslie was not an innocent party in the incident and questioning the timing of Muturi’s accusations.

The recent post made some users take a humorous angle, pointing out that Kimani Ichung’wah, claims to receive daily calls from the president, questioning whether they should take inference from Sudi’s statement.
