Controversial city preacher Pastor James Ng'ang'a has once again caught the internet's attention after making disturbing comments during one of his typically charged Sunday services.

The founder of Neno Evangelism Centre, Pastor Ng'ang'a, came under criticism from a section of Kenyans last Sunday after appearing to mock women who, according to him, were obsessed with beauty trends but were still unattractive.

While addressing an unusually silent congregation, Ng'ang'a criticised women who use cosmetics to enhance their beauty, even suggesting that, despite all their efforts, they were still unattractive and wouldn't even be good enough to be raped.

"You take too much time beautifying yourself and then spend an entire day and no one even bothers to approach you. Women are getting raped and you couldn't even get someone who could rape you," Ng'ang'a said.

He went on to mock these women, suggesting that it would have been more reasonable if they were, at least, raped as proof of their attractiveness.

"It would be better if you would be raped. But no one is doing that to you. You don't have anyone to rape you, no one to hit on you... and if they hit on you, they're just playing around with you," he mocked.

"And yet you took two hours in front of a mirror fixing yourself. The problem is not on the outside... It's on the inside..."

As he made these remarks, the congregation appeared visibly shocked and speechless, devoid of the usual loud applause and cheers that often accompany some of his most controversial statements.

An undated video of the incident soon surfaced online, and Kenyans on X were quick to express their disgust. Many called out the preacher for his coarse language, with some even suggesting that he should be arrested for making such an inflammatory statement.

X user Natasha wrote, "I keep saying that women in Kenya are in hell. Patriarchy is so embedded in society. At some point, it really remains a question if the Kenyan man is salvageable."

Someone else wrote, "This is not just inappropriate! It's deeply disturbing! It’s unfathomable that anyone would make light of something so serious! Rape is not something to joke about! As a rape victim myself, I shudder when I come across such language. This is highly triggering."

Rose Nyaboke commented, "This is actually so disgusting! I'm so shocked I even thought this was AI, cause ain’t no way he actually said this. Religion in its purest form isn’t horrible, but people misuse it, prey on their congregations, and use the platform to propagate stupid stuff like this!"

"The saddest thing is that his own wife sat there all through and watched her husband say this," another disappointed Kenyan noted. "And his female congregants too, who make up the bulk of his members, also sat there and helplessly watched as he made these threats. This man is insufferable!"

Pastor Ng'ang'a, no stranger to controversy, has often been called out for his sexist statements and careless opinions, especially regarding women.

For instance, when he has differences with random people, he urges them to go ask their mothers who their boyfriend is, suggesting that he has had sexual relations with the mothers of his critics.

"Ask your mother who her boyfriend is. Your mother is my girlfriend. Ask your mother where she was in 1968... I was with her. I am your father..." he recently said, dismissing his detractors.
