Kenyan TikToker and content creator Rachel Otuoma has confirmed her engagement, marking a new chapter in her life just months after the death of her husband, former footballer Ezekiel Otuoma.

Ezekiel died on December 21, 2024, after a four-year battle with motor neurone disease (MND), also known as ALS. His passing left Rachel a young widow, drawing widespread sympathy from fans and the public.

By May 2026, Rachel was celebrating love again, revealing her engagement during a surprise party shared on social media.

The video showed her fiancé presenting a ring as friends and family watched.

Her journey back into the public eye has, however, been closely scrutinised.

About four months after Ezekiel’s death, she introduced a new partner, triggering mixed reactions online and criticism over the timing of her new relationship.

She was later linked to a man identified as Jabilo, with preparations reportedly underway for a traditional wedding by August 2025.

In November 2025, she further stirred confusion after announcing she had remarried to a man named Dennis Aol, later clarifying that her then partner was set to formalise the union.

Despite the backlash and cultural expectations placed on widows, Rachel has previously maintained that she reserves the right to move on.

Speaking during a TikTok live session, she said, “I deserve peace and happiness just like any other widow,” adding that her partner had been supportive throughout her transition.

At Ezekiel’s burial, Rachel had vowed never to remove his ring. She has now confirmed she will continue wearing it alongside her new fiancé’s ring, saying, “Life must continue.”

Netizens reacted with mixed views. @Lydiah Lindoz commented, “Ni kweli ana nyota ya mapenzi, ashukuru Mungu sana,” while @Irene Lucintah wrote, “Congratulations to her.”
