A viral video showing a security officer manhandling a woman outside the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) gate has sparked outrage on social media.

In the footage seen by TNX Africa, the guard stationed at the university gate is seen grabbing a woman by the hair as she bends forward.

Another female officer stands nearby and appears to signal to a colleague to come over.

The incident was recorded by a female student, who can be heard questioning the officer's actions and urging bystanders to intervene.

“Sasa mbona wanampiga? Awache kumpiga, si umwambie awache. Mbona anapiga msichana? Twende tukamtetee Njambi,” she says in the clip.

The person filming then crosses the road and moves closer as the scuffle begins to subside. A small crowd gathers around the woman, and a man in a pink shirt is seen confronting the security officers.

According to claims circulating online, the confrontation may have been triggered by allegations of inappropriate dressing.

In the footage, the woman is seen wearing a flowery yellow and black dress paired with black stockings.

The clip ends with several people surrounding the woman. What happened afterwards remains unclear.

The Catholic University of Eastern Africa has not yet issued a statement regarding the incident, which continues to circulate widely online.

The incident has triggered sharp reactions from Kenyans online, with many condemning the conduct of the security officers and calling for action by the university.

Okii Eli wrote on Instagram, “He deserves to be fired and arrested for assault charges. Wako focused on dress code na vile performance in the job market doesn't translate to at all. They should focus on teaching morals not enforcing.”

Another user, Nekesa Lynn, questioned the alleged justification for the confrontation, writing, “Is the inappropriate dressing in the room with us ???”

Joseph Karii added, “Take him to court for assault period.”
