Chelsea's Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro appear in Madonna’s video after missing World Cup selection

Chelsea footballers Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro have featured in an upcoming Madonna promotional film, just days after being left out of their respective World Cup national team selections.

The two players surprised fans with an unexpected guest appearance in a short promotional production linked to the rollout of pop icon Madonna’s latest album.

Photos shared by Men in Blazers showed the stars alongside Julia Garner, Richard E. Grant, Odessa A’zion, and Kate Moss.

The 14-minute promotional video was first premiered by Madonna on Friday at the Tribeca Festival in New York before being released globally on her official YouTube channel on Monday.

Around six minutes into the film, Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro make a cameo during a humorous scene in which Madonna approaches them while they are in a public restroom.

British actor Benedict Cumberbatch also appears later in the film in a separate cameo.

For both footballers, the project comes during a break from international duty.

Cole Palmer missed out on England’s 26-man World Cup squad following an injury-hit season.

Joao Pedro was also left out of Brazil’s national team selection despite a strong individual campaign in which he scored 20 goals for Chelsea and was named the club’s player of the season.

Seven-time Grammy winner Madonna has been a regular supporter of Chelsea’s men’s and women’s teams.

She attended the club’s 2-1 victory over Liverpool and last month joined celebrities at the launch of Chelsea’s new 2026-2027 home kit alongside British influencer Gymskin.

Madonna’s new album, Confessions on a Dance Floor: Part 2, is set for release on 3 July.
