Dr Ofweneke has issued a public apology to rapper Stevo Simple Boy after controversial remarks by Andrew Kibe aired during a podcast segment.
In a statement shared online, the comedian and media personality said the clip containing Kibe’s comments was uploaded after he had already called Stevo and apologized directly.
“To my small brother and very good friend, stevo simple boy.. myself and my production team I am taking the blame and I should have taken accountability and reacted in a different way, I apologies to you and your family”, he said in a video.
Dr. Ofweneke said he assured Stevo that the offending segment would be removed from the podcast.
The apology follows Stevo Simple Boy’s response to Kibe’s remarks, in which the musician urged the podcaster to refrain from involving his child in public conversations.
Stevo’s statement highlighted the sensitivity of discussing family matters and called for boundaries where children are concerned.
Reaction on social media was quick and largely supportive of Stevo. Many Kenyans condemned Kibe’s comments, arguing that bringing children into public disputes is inappropriate regardless of the parties involved.
Users emphasized the need to respect privacy and urged public figures to be mindful when discussing personal or family issues on air.
His clarification appeared aimed at containing the fallout and reassuring that he had taken immediate steps to address the situation after realizing the harm caused.
By contacting Stevo personally and promising to delete the segment, he attempted to show accountability and sensitivity to concerns raised by the community.
Critics are now urging content creators to exercise caution and empathy, especially when remarks affect minors or vulnerable individuals in the society.
Supporters of Stevo praised his stand for protecting his child’s privacy, as tensions cooled, netizens were not having it.

Dr. Ofweneke has since deleted that whole episode.
