The aftermath of student unrest at Litein Boys High School has left parents, staff, and stakeholders grappling with shocking scenes of destruction and bizarre student antics.
What began as anger over being denied a chance to watch a football match spiralled into looting, vandalism, and a night of chaos that has since gone viral.
In one of the videos circulating online, men can be heard calculating alleged losses, claiming students broke into the school safe and carried off cash, including more than Sh330,000 meant for 'Form Four champions', as well as Sh14,400 earmarked for bread.
"Those boys will be splashing the money out here in harambees," one man said, amid a laugh from the men around him.

He then alleged the total haul exceeded Sh2 million, though the school has yet to confirm the figures.
The claims sparked widespread skepticism online, with many questioning why the school office would be holding such large sums of money in cash.
"What was 1 million shillings in cash doing in a school in this digital era?" one user asked, while others suggested possible cover-ups by school officials.
Meanwhile, footage showed students breaking into the principal's kitchen to prepare a Spanish omelette, parading and riding the school's prized cow, and vandalising property.
By morning, the destruction was severe: the Sh18 million administration block was in ruins, the main gate torn down, labs vandalised, television sets and CCTV cameras smashed, and books strewn across the compound.
This is not the first time the institution has been rocked by unrest.
In July 2025, it was shut indefinitely over food protests, and in November 2021, another closure followed clashes between students and the administration.
