Nairobi County Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria has sparked online debate after questioning businessman and politician Michael Makarina’s claim of being healed following prayers by Prophet David Owuor.
Makarina recently appeared at a religious gathering led by Prophet Owuor and claimed a miracle restored his ability to walk. The story quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions from Kenyans on social media.
Following the alleged healing, Mosiria took to his social media pages urging Makarina to donate his wheelchair to someone in need.
“Nikujie wheelchair wapi? Kuna jamaa hapa Tea Room ako in need of the wheelchair. Ama uiache Nakuru, I go pick it?” he wrote, adding that arrangements had been proposed to have the wheelchair collected for donation, but Makarina had yet to respond.
The post sparked sharp reactions online. Some praised the healing and defended Prophet Owuor’s ministry, while others were skeptical.
One commenter sarcastically questioned the miracle’s authenticity, while another prayed for discernment, saying: “God Almighty in the name of Jesus Christ please help us see with the eyes of the heart so we may not be deceived. Amen.”
Makarina later defended his healing, dismissing critics as “Thomas”; a biblical reference to doubters.
He explained his legs were still adjusting but insisted the miracle was real: “Ni vile tu miguu iko na woga kutembea kwa sababu haijazoea. Lakini tukikutana na wewe nikitembea, niambie Bwana Yesu asifiwe.”
He urged the public to respect Prophet Owuor’s ministry and emphasized faith over doubt as key to witnessing miracles.
