Former Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza’s husband Murega Baichu has released a new song titled ‘Fagilia Wasaliti Wote’ that urges Kenyans to not vote for Ruto and his cronies

He sings in Swahili “Wasaliti wote tumeamua, fagia kasongo tumeamua, fagia kindiki tumeamua, wasaliti wote tumeamua, na wabunge wote tufagilie, na wafisadi wote tumeamua tufagilie”

Netizens took to social media to express their mixed reactions, @HezronNyangaresi, commented, “I will play this song towards my polling station in 2027”, @lutomiahoscar posted, “Wasaliti wote tunaenda kufagia kwanza mimi nakuja kukupigia kura apo mukiria nimeskia unaplan kutoa kirima” and @abel mwangangi posted, “Gachagua should be playing this in his campaign trails”

Baichu is not new to controversial music, as demonstrated in another song titled ‘Singapore’ where he poked holes at Ruto’s Singapore rhetoric in elevating Kenya’s economy.

Tunaelekea Singapore lakini mbona, barabara za kuelekea Singapore viongozi wanakula, tulifikira tutapanda mbona machafuko?” a stanza of the lyrics questioned.

His most recent song comes amid the politically charged temperatures that has been witnessed in the country, especially around the Mount Kenya power wrangles, that has frequently been spear-headed by the former Deputy Rigathi Gachagua since his impeachment and ouster in 2024.

Ruto’s and Gachagua’s camp has been at odds since then, with the constant and final impeachment of Kawira Mwangaza further escalating the deep seated rifts and rivals.

With political rivalry and public bashing, Kenyans have constantly witnessed feuds during functions or funeral ceremonies, leaving them in a whirlwind.

The most recent one was the public clash between Mwea MP Mary Maingi and Gachagua’s allies at a funeral in Kirinyaga.

What began as a normal funeral quickly escalated into a fierce showdown, when Gachagua who was addressing the mourners through a phone call on loudspeaker, mentioned the Mwea MP as a traitor due to her alliance with Ruto.

The MP who was seated quietly at the back immediately scampered to the podium and retaliated addressing Gachagua over the phone saying, “Shame on you”, as the lady who was carrying the phone got off the podium in a rush, the chaos would continue off podium.

Another heated political showdown was during the funeral service of the late Ol Kalaou Member of Parliament David Kiaraho, when former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and President William Ruto exchanged words fearlessly, each showcasing their political prowess.
