Cardiothoracic surgeons and cancer patients have petitioned the government to urgently include endoscopy among the procedures covered by SHA, warning that its exclusion delays diagnosis.
Dr Russ White, says that esophageal cancer is common among men and women in Kenya, yet the only definitive way to diagnose it is through endoscopy — a procedure not paid for by SHA.
