KTN videographer Rashid Mukoya Idi was laid to rest following his death on Christmas Day.

Colleagues, friends and family attended the solemn ceremony that was held at the Kibra Muslim Cemetery in Nairobi.

Prayers for late Rashid were held at Masjid Jamia Salama Kibera on December 26th 2025. The body will be moved to Malakisi ,Bungoma county for burial in accordance to Islamic rites.

Rashid passed away on December 25, 2025, while undergoing treatment at King David Hospital in Ngong after a short illness.

Colleagues from the media industry joined friends and family as the late videographer was laid to rest, paying tribute to a professional whose work and character left a lasting mark on those he worked with.

Rashid was a dedicated member of the Editorial Department at The Standard Group, having joined the organisation on January 17, 2013. Over more than a decade of service, he earned respect for his professionalism, creativity and commitment to visual storytelling, contributing significantly to the company's editorial output.

Philip Etale mourned Rashid on his social media. He wrote, "What a sad way to end a colourful and cheerful Christmas Day... my brother Rashid Idi, from our days at the KIMC and on to KBC and Citizen before you left for KTN, we have been so close. A good football player and a dedicated cameraman in the field of journalism. Last time I was with you was a three weeks ago. Bro, news of your passing has hit me hard. Sad, sad, sad. Go well my friend Rashid."

He was widely remembered for his humility, teamwork and unwavering dedication to his craft, qualities that endeared him to colleagues across the organisation.

His passing has been deeply felt within the newsroom and the wider media fraternity, where he was regarded as a skilled and dependable videographer whose work spoke for itself.
