Video: Matatu driver, conductor brutally beating passenger sparks outrage

A shocking video has surfaced of violent altercation involving a matatu driver, his conductor and and alleged passenger.

The clip that has now gone viral was initially captured by popular content creator Brayoh Biker, then later on a by a pedestrian showing a man who reportedly refused to pay his fare, while others claim the money he had was not sufficient to settle the bus bill.

In the harrowing 45-second clip, the matatu driver and tout are seen raining down punches and kicks on the defenseless man as he cowers on the ground by the roadside.

The brutal assault continues for several tense moments, with the victim pleading for mercy amid the chaos of the onlookers.

Bystanders shout in protest, but the perpetrators persist until the man manages to break free and stumbles away, visibly battered and traumatized.

The matatu in question has been positively identified as belonging to Latema Sacco, a prominent public service vehicle operator in Kenya's matatu sector.

This revelation has ignited widespread public outrage, with netizens flooding social media platforms demanding a quick and stern action from authorities.

With comments ranging from calls for the suspension of the sacco's operations to reforms in the seemingly unruly matatu industry, long marred by reports of fare disputes turning violent.

Latema Sacco is yet to issue an official statement, with the passenger's identity remaining undisclosed, and it is unclear if he has sought medical attention or filed a formal complaint.
