LSK President Faith Odhiambo condemned the forceful eviction of residents on riparian land in Mukuru kwa Rueben.
The Law Society of Kenya and Greenbelt Movement have demanded the the governor drops the plan and apologise to the city residents.
Prof Ojienda said the new leadership must not appear to be tilted towards one side as it would risk losing objectivity.
“There is no legal basis to deduct the housing levy and this action amounts to contempt of court and arbitrary imposition of tax," said outgoing LSK president Eric Theuri.
Faith Odhiambo becomes the second woman in LSK history to hold such a post after Raychelle Omamo.
