Rapper Fetty Wap is officially engaged after proposing to his girlfriend, Alexis, in a romantic ceremony shared with fans on social media.
Alexis confirmed the engagement on Monday, July 20, through a carousel of photos and videos posted on her Instagram account and seen by TNX Africa.
The footage captured the New Jersey rapper dropping to one knee, leaving an emotional Alexis speechless before presenting her with a large diamond ring.
Other images showed close-up shots of the sparkling engagement ring and the couple sharing a kiss in front of an illuminated "Will You Marry Me" sign, framed by a pink, heart-shaped floral display.
Keeping the announcement simple, Alexis captioned the post: "I said yes!" alongside a ring emoji.
The engagement came as a surprise to many fans, as the couple have largely kept their relationship out of the spotlight. Alexis maintains a relatively low profile online, with her social media content focusing mainly on fashion, lifestyle and nightlife in New York City and New Jersey.
The personal milestone comes during a major comeback for Fetty Wap.
On January 8, the rapper secured an early release from federal prison after serving more than three years of a six-year sentence on drug-related charges. He is currently serving the remainder of his sentence under home confinement.
Since his release, Fetty Wap has wasted little time reviving his music career. He released his fourth studio album, Zavier, on March 27 and launched his nationwide Nostalgia Tour in June.
The tour is scheduled to stop at the Prudential Centre in Newark, New Jersey, on July 25 before wrapping up in Denver on December 6.
Away from music, the rapper recently teamed up with fast-food chain Jimmy John's to launch the limited-time "#1738 Fetty W(r)ap Meal," while his 2015 breakout hit Trap Queen continues to attract new listeners.
The low-key romance marks a contrast to Fetty Wap's past high-profile relationships.
He previously dated model Alexis Skyy and reality television personality Masika Kalysha, with whom he shares a 10-year-old daughter, Khari Barbie Maxwell.
The rapper also secretly married Leandra Gonzalez in 2019, but the union ended in divorce less than a year later amid allegations of infidelity.
