Rapper King KARZ has officially released his highly anticipated debut album, Away from Home.
The 15-track masterpiece captures the raw essence of his journey from Nairobi to Perth.
The album, he describes as “a raw, unfiltered diary,” of his struggles and triumphs.
All the tracks in the project revolve around the loneliness of migration, the weight of supporting family across continents, and the clash of cultures.
Recorded while juggling university and multiple jobs, ‘Away from Home’ juxtaposes club-ready anthems with introspective bars, offering solace to diasporas worldwide.
“East Africa raised me, Australia shaped me,” he says. “This mixtape is for anyone torn between two homes.”
For KARZ, he says music has been in his blood since he was a youngster.
“I began writing songs at the tender age of nine. As a rapper and songwriter, music became my canvas for self-expression, a platform to share stories that mirrored my experiences and those of my community. The everyday struggles and triumphs fueled my passion, and I yearned to uplift spirits and spread hope through my lyrics,” he says.
His artistic journey took a new turn when he unveiled his project titled ‘’8 AM in Perth’’a while back.
King KARZ insists that he pursues music since he feels it is his way of expressing himself and sharing stories that resonates with his experiences and those of his community.
