Oga Obinna loses Sh2m bet to Bolo Bespoke after Spain stun Argentina

Kenyan media personality Oga Obinna is Sh2 million poorer after losing a high-stakes bet when Spain beat Lionel Messi's Argentina 1-0 after extra time to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Sunday, July 19.

Obinna lost the prediction to businessman and model Bolo Bespoke after expressing confidence that Argentina would beat Spain within the regulation 90 minutes.

The public bet had attracted widespread attention in the days leading up to the final.

Shortly after the final whistle during the highly awaited duel, Bolo shared a photo on social media showing Obinna handing over bundles of cash, confirming the wager had been settled in full.

"A bet is a bet. Oga Obinna honoured the Sh2 million ($15,500) agreement after Spain's victory," Bolo wrote.

Obinna responded in the comments with a light-hearted remark despite the costly defeat.

"Pelekea bibi na umsalimie sana."

Fans also reacted to the exchange, with one writing:

On the pitch, Spain dominated possession and controlled the tempo from the opening whistle at New York New Jersey Stadium, restricting Argentina to no shots on target during regulation time.

Despite Spain's dominance, Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez kept his side in the contest with 12 saves as the match remained goalless after 90 minutes.

Argentina's task became even tougher in stoppage time when midfielder Enzo Fernandez was sent off after receiving a second yellow card.

Spain eventually made their numerical advantage count in the 106th minute when Nico Williams headed Pedro Porro's cross into the path of substitute Ferran Torres, who fired a first-time finish into the roof of the net.
