Content creator and Guinness World Record holder Raymond Kahuma has once again captured public attention after unveiling an unusual culinary fashion experiment, wearable trousers made entirely from chapati.
In a detailed video shared on his social platforms, Kahuma documented the process from preparation to final design.
The project began with the preparation of about 60 layered chapatis, which were carefully cooked to achieve a balance between flexibility and structure.
Using his body measurements, Kahuma and his team created a trouser pattern, which was used as a guide to shape the chapatis.
The flatbreads were then arranged in panels and bonded together using a heavy-duty adhesive. The material was left to dry before a tailor stitched the sections into a finished garment.
The final product resembled a pair of trousers made from edible material, showcasing a blend of culinary creativity and experimental design.
Kahuma is known for large-scale food-based creative projects and holds verified Guinness World Records, including recognition for preparing the largest chapati, weighing about 150 kilograms, achieved in Nairobi in 2022 under supervised conditions.
He also gained attention for completing a record attempt involving making multiple chapatis in a timed challenge, further cementing his reputation for turning traditional East African street food into record-breaking culinary displays.
The fastest time to make three chapatis is 3 min 10.22 sec, and was achieved by Raymond Kahuma in Nairobi, Kenya, on 19 November 2023.
The latest chapati trousers project continues his trend of pushing creative boundaries, combining food artistry with performance-style content that has helped him build a growing online following across the region.
