RIKE opposed KECOBO's directive transferring KAMP's licensing functions to the Performing and Audio-Visual Rights Society of Kenya (PAVRISK) during the suspension.
KAMP said it was "dismayed and deeply concerned" by the decision, arguing that the suspension came despite ongoing engagement with the regulator.
KECOBO has suspended KAMP's licence for 90 days over alleged royalty mismanagement, governance failures and regulatory breaches, directing PAVRISK to temporarily collect royalties.
The payout marks the first phase of the organisation’s annual distribution cycle and is expected to benefit both local and international rights holders represented by the CMO.
