Kenyan-Italian rapper Masa is stepping into a new era with his latest project, Boss Moves, and it is far more than a collection of bravado-filled tracks.

For Masa, this body of work represents a significant shift from his earlier, more emotionally expressive releases toward a sound rooted in responsibility, purpose, and strategic growth. While his previous music centered on raw experiences and feelings, Boss Moves arrives with a sharper focus and a newfound clarity.

The rapper explains that the project is not merely about money or success but about moving with intention, making smarter decisions, and taking full control of his artistic path. It is a declaration of self-assurance, reflecting an artist who is finally confident in who he is, what he wants to say, and how he wants his audience to remember him.

At the core of Masa’s identity is his rich dual heritage, and he refuses to choose between the two cultures that shaped him.

He credits Kenya for giving him his raw energy, his instinct for storytelling, and the very reason he makes music, while acknowledging that Italy introduced him to a different side of life, ambition, and the creative environment he now operates within.

However, he makes it clear that the heart and spirit of his art remain undeniably Kenyan. This fusion is not a balancing act but a seamless blend that informs every bar he writes, allowing him to draw from the vibrant storytelling traditions of East Africa while channelling the polished ambition of his European surroundings.

The biggest turning point in his career came when he stopped trying to impress and started telling his own story unapologetically. He points to his track Better Than I as a milestone that proved honesty resonates far more than flashy lyricism.

Once he embraced his own unique sound and became comfortable with his narrative, everything clicked into place. That sense of personal alignment is exactly what drives this particular project.

When asked about his ultimate goals, Masa is refreshingly grounded. While he certainly wants Kenyan listeners to connect with his music and hopes to catch the ears of overseas audiences, his primary ambition is deeply internal.

He is determined to prove something to himself, setting a new standard for what he can achieve and showing how far he has come.

According to him, true success lies in creating music he is genuinely proud of, knowing that genuine fans will naturally follow.

He views Masa not just as a name or another upcoming artist chasing fame, but as a brand and a business he is willing to pour everything into.
