We are not one with these people, like they will want us to believe. What keeps them and their kin up at night is nowhere near what concerns the rest of us.
As higher taxes are demanded, we can only dial up our interest and scrutiny of where they go, commensurate with the pinch that we feel.
Trying to rationalise such preferences for risk misses the point. The answer is in providing a choice. These folks are driven by the survival instinct and staying alive is what matters at that point.
