Former TV host Kimani Mbugua is asking for help after he was robbed during a live TikTok broadcast.

Kimani reported that the incident took place while he was on a morning walk in Jomoko, Thika.

He was approached by an individual armed with a machete, resulting in injuries to his leg and hand.

Despite the ordeal, Kimani stated he is doing okay but is seeking assistance to recover his stolen Samsung A34 phone, a device essential for his content creation, which was purchased for him by his followers.

"Guys I was mugged this morning while I was live on Tiktok by a guy with a panga, I was on my morning walk in Jomoko in Thika. I hurt my leg and hand but am doing okay,” he wrote.

The robbery has been reported to the Kiandutu police station under the reference number OB no 05/23/03/24.

"I reported the case to Kiandutu police station OB no 05/23/03/24 I am doing okay but I lost my Samsung A34 which you guys bought me, I was producing content with it, Kenya police please help me recover it please,” said Kimani.

A few months ago, Kimani received overwhelming support from Kenyans during an online fundraiser led by digital content creator Nyako.

Initially asking for Sh200k to start a business due to financial difficulties, the fundraiser surpassed expectations, gathering Sh420,000, with contributions eventually reaching Sh500,000.

Overjoyed by the support, Kimani said, "Thank you! Thank you so much. I never would have imagined ingekuwa hivi. I am so grateful to all of you. Asanteni sana.”

Kimani, who has been open about his struggles since losing his job in 2020, also shared insights into his battle with mental health.

In an Instagram post, he detailed a manic episode linked to his bipolar disorder.
