Officers in Makupa Police Station in Mombasa were left in shock after a teenager who had reportedly stolen livestock suddenly lost the ability to speak and began bleating like a goat and crowing like a chicken.
In the video that has since gone viral, the young man, dressed in a red hoodie, is seen being interviewed by police officers. Strangely, he displayed what appeared to be a flehmen response - a curling of the upper lip commonly seen in male goats.
When officers asked for his name, he was unable to speak, instead responding with animal sounds resembling goat bleats.
Officers struggled to interrogate him through normal oral communication.
Eventually, they resorted to using pen and paper after it became clear that any attempt to speak resulted in him bleating or mimicking a rooster's crow.

Once handed the paper, the teenager identified himself as a Luo from Nairobi and confessed to stealing two goats and two chickens from a Kamba household.
The spectacle left many officers in disbelief, struggling to comprehend the surreal turn of events.
The incident has ignited widespread debate on social media.
Some users questioned why such supernatural interventions aren't used against corrupt politicians, while others described it as an "African solution to an African problem."
This is not the first reported case of supernatural justice in Kenya. Just days ago in Kitengela, Kajiado County, two women allegedly found themselves under attack by a swarm of bees after stealing KSh 100,000 from a woman named Salome.
Salome had reportedly planned to use the money to start a business.
After the theft, she reported the matter to a witch doctor known as Wasonga.
Wasonga's aides later ushered the two women into a house where a ritual was performed to disperse the bees, which ultimately led to the recovery of the stolen cash.
