A 30-year-old man has landed in trouble after he allegedly attacked a child who he accused of mocking his grandmother.

Peter Kinyanjui, according to court papers, assaulted N.O.O. aged 10, causing him injuries on the head.

That day, the minor was with another child playing and singing in their upstairs apartment.

An elderly woman was, however, not amused because she believed the children were mocking her in their songs.

Enraged, the woman chased away the children, accusing them of mocking her.

Her grandson also emerged from the house and asked the children why they were insulting his grandmother. Kinyanjui allegedly punched the minor on the forehead until it swelled.

When the parents of the child, who were not present at the time of the attack, arrived, they took him to a nearby clinic where he was treated and discharged.

They then reported the matter at the Obama Police Station leading to the arrest of the accused person.

Kinyanjui has since denied the charges and was released on a cash bail of Sh20,000 pending mention on March 18.
