Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has celebrated Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika and her husband, Sam Mburu, for welcoming twins.
In a heartfelt post he expressed his joy, writing, “Congratulations, my brother Sam Mburu, for the effort and the new generation. May this double blessing fill your lives with boundless love, laughter, and wonder.”
Accompanying the message was a photo of the couple with two children who were born in the USA.
However, the image quickly raised questions as social media users began doubted whether the children were truly twins.
Many pointed out a noticeable age difference, with one child appearing significantly older than the other.
The photo surfaced after months of silence and online speculation about the whereabouts of the Governor.
While the debate rages about whether the photo was genuine or not, Susan and Sam have remained notably silent, offering no public statements about the childbirth despite widespread attention and speculations.
Susan Kihika had been away from the spotlight and her prolonged absence led to uproar among the residents of Nakuru.
They expressed frustration over what they perceive as a leadership vacuum. For example, earlier this month, the residents led by Kimori Evans, started collecting signatures in a bid to have President William Ruto suspend the county government.
They claimed that the Executive had failed to serve. They also accused MCAs of failure to carry out their oversight role and instead colluding with the Executive.
“It is time to hold Nakuru county leadership to account because the residents deserve responsive, transparent, and accountable leadership,” said Kimori.
Amid the backlash from the residents, a section of the Kenya Women Parliamentary Association (KEWOPA) stepped in to defend her.
They revealed that the Governor had faced complications during childbirth, necessitating a longer recovery period.
The women leaders condemned the gendered attacks on Kihika, emphasizing that childbirth is a deeply personal process and that women leaders should not be forced to choose between motherhood and public service.
