Days after DJ Joe Mfalme was freed due to lack of evidence in the murder case of DCI officer Felix Kelian, he has distanced himself from claims that he is a ‘snitch’.

Joe was released alongside Eric Kariuki Gathua, Simon Wambugu Wanjiru, Khadija Abdi Wako, Sammy Cheruiyot Rotich, and Agnes Kerubo Mogoire, but his hypeman Allan Ochieng’ aka Ballo is still in custody.

Speaking in an interview with Ankali Ray of Milele FM, the DJ said soon the truth will be known and public opinion does not bother him.

“People don't know the story..the matter is in court, so hiyo ni kitu siwezi ongelea saa hii. Lakini ni sawa, public opinion iko sawa...mambo ya kesi ni watu hawajui kesi,” he said.

Asked whether he is on good terms with Ballo, Joe said there is no beef between them though they are not in touch due to the nature of the case.

“I am okay being called a snitch because Ballo and I are on good terms, although we are not in communication because of the nature of the case," he added.

Speaking of his short stint in cell, the DJ thanked friends and fans who showed up to support him, adding that he has also learnt his lesson.

"Tuko salama, but we have learnt our lesson. People showed up a lot. I was overwhelmed," he added.

Joe and his co-accused had spent 14 days in police custody, pending investigations into the murder of Kelian whose car hit Mfalme's car in a slight accident near Kikuyu Police Station on March 16.

At the station, the late officer had complained of abdominal pains, he was later rushed to Nairobi West Hospital where he died on March 21, 2024.
