Sex and mchele dominated Naivasha Safari Rally weekend

They arrived in “Vasha’ for the World Rally Championship (WRC) dressed in all manner of clothes from hot pants to sagging trousers all eager to impress.

Hooting cars, revering Subarus, and loud music were the order of the day as hundreds arrived in Naivasha for the third edition of the global event.

The “innocent” ones kept seeping from the inside of the hired cars while for the majority, it was showoff time as they hung dangerously from the sides of the cars drinking and smoking.

Hours after arriving in Naivasha, the busy Moi South Lake which is home to tens of hotels and flower farms was a no-go-zone.

Despite the ban on hawking and partying along the road, the revelers, many of them youths, decided to take the law literally into their hands as the merry-making was pushed to the roadside. The shy gals now intoxicated came down from the tinted cars and climbed to the rooftop of the cars dancing and swinging their behinds to the joy of spectators.

The cold weather was forgotten as the girls whipped their tops exposing their breasts to the motorists sparking anger and joy depending on age. For the elderly heading home, the sights were disgusting as the semi-naked youths made it to the roadside unperturbed by the number of motorists watching.

Their colleagues egged them on in scenes replicated in several joints along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway and within Naivasha town where there were several gigs going on.

Group sex became the order of the night as caution was thrown to the wind as some of the criminals took advantage of the drunkards to grab and steal mobile phones.

Drinking cheap liquor

Away from the roadsides and in various bars, sat quiet, good-looking, and well-dressed ladies who had traveled from far and wide ready to mingle and do business.

Dressed in low blouses, their bosoms literally falling off, tight mini-skirts, high heel shoes, and well-oiled thighs out to see for anyone who cared.

Unlike their young sisters who were drinking cheap liquor that came their way, this group of mainly two to three ladies knew their taste.

Eyes darting from one reveler to the other, the ladies popularly known as ‘watu-wa mchele’ identified their targets and within minutes the not-so-lucky men were under the whims of the women.

Tens of foreigners mainly from Uganda fell for these ladies and by the end of the rally, many were penniless, phoneless, and speechless.

Come Sunday evening, it was total madness as the youths now less loud, nursing major hangovers and broke started trooping back to Nairobi.

After sleeping in their cars, missing part of the weekend outfit, they squeezed into the cars and quietly drove back as the full reality of what they had done started downing on them.

The morning after

Many were those who passed through chemists in Naivasha eager to get contraceptives tablets known as P2 not sure who they slept with and when.

As for the well-oiled thighs ladies, they were literally smiling all the way to the bank having swindled various men all their hard-earned cash. Gone were the short dresses and torn jeans and in their place, the ladies wore long dresses and marching head scarves only worn by some women groups in top churches.

Five people, who included two minors, on their way from watching the rally died along Naivasha-Mai Mahiu Road on Sunday after a lorry ferrying sand rammed into their car.

One youth who was allegedly drunk fell from a moving matatu near Hellsgate and died before he could arrive in hospital while one of the ‘Subaru Boys’ hit and killed a motorcycle operator near Karagita trading centre.

At the Naivasha police station, the mchele victims were united in misery speaking in stammering tongues unsure which day it was and who spiked their drinks.

Many could only remember a brown lady as investigating officers recorded over 50 cases of drink spiking, robbery, and car breaking at the end of the international event.

Among the complainants were some revelers from Uganda who lost tons of cash to the ladies after allowing them into their hotels late at night.

A police source said that many of the cases reported at Naivasha police station involved ‘mchele’ and mobile phone theft.

“Last year, we had the same problem of drink-spiking and it seems that many men who are incidentally attracted by these brown ladies with short dresses do not learn,” said the officer.

Shortage of condoms

According to Stanley Ngara, popularly known as the African King of Condoms, by Friday evening free condoms had run out due to the high demand.

Ngara, who is popular in social events, termed the shortage as a major tragedy with the youths openly engaging in open sex. He admitted that for the last year, the country was facing an acute shortage of condoms with many donors pulling out due to harsh economic times.

“The country is currently facing an acute shortage of condoms but we did our part and managed to distribute as many condoms to the revelers as possible,” he says.

Reverend James Njihia who got stuck along Moi South Lake Road for over three hours said what he saw will forever remain etched in his mind.

“I saw some very young girls around 16 years without any top and very drunk dancing on top of cars while others were having sex by the roadside and this pains me a lot,” he said.
